Mitchelle Lyle

I began my international adventures in 2009 and couldn’t get enough.
Visiting a country is cool, of course; setting foot on new soil alone energizes me. I would zip through excursions, trying not to miss a thing. As a master planner, I have created itineraries that didn’t disappoint, but I will admit I was tired when I returned home. Other times I have made relaxing my first priority and fell into a cycle of eating, swimming, and rum punches the entire time, rarely leaving the resort and learning little about the country. I wanted a balance, but the problems were time and money—what else could it have been? There had to be a solution for this that didn’t require me to become rich overnight.
I recalled my first journey that had this, in Cape Town, South Africa. It was my first time out of the country, in fact. By the end of the month, I was able to identify the amount of exposure, experience, and growth I had in those 4 weeks that I could not imagine attempting to squeeze into one. I continued to study abroad and plan my own long stays for over a decade. Since Cape Town, I have had the pleasure to live in Brazil, Martinique and France and a number of other voyages taking in new cultures. This was the experience I wanted to have and share with others.
I found that people who wanted to work and live abroad only needed a little guidance on how to do so. In the wake of the pandemic, I knew exactly how I wanted to help others who battled this balance as I had in the past. This was the beginning for ITA and your new journey.
